Tantraya Center 5-Day Bagua Training

Tantraya Center 5-Day Bagua Training

$300.00

Please join us for this special 5-day workshop exploring Baguazhang, the Eight Trigram Fist.

Bagua is the only true Taoist martial art, originating in the circle walking practices of the Taoist Monastic tradition, and based upon the principle of the Yi Ching- the Book of Changes.

In this art, a practitioner becomes extremely soft, fluid, as well as extremely powerful, strong and able to move in a rooted and fully grounded manner.

In a martial context, bagua is extremely effective, with its constant movement, spiral motions, extremely fast turns, spins, whirls and leaps, and the ability to change instantly, without losing speed, mass or acceleration.

In a physical context, the body becomes internally connected, extremely fluid, soft and mobile but incredibly strong, powerful and solid.

On an energetic level, the practice is designed to completely open the energy channels, activate the three major energy centers, and awaken hidden capacities and portions of the brain

On a psychological and emotional level, the practice creates extreme calm, great clarity and total balance in one’s life

On a spiritual level, the art is equal to the systems of enlightenment found within the Tantric and Yogic methodologies.

You will learn:

A powerful series of warm up and opening exercises:

Bagua coiling palms to open the arm channels, connect the body internally and begin to learn the generation of power

Fundamentals of Bagua circle walking, the soul of the art

Bagua Qigong to develop a powerful current of internal energy

Bagua forms and applications based on Cheng style Bagua

Bagua push hands and partner work to learn to apply the principles and teachings in relationship

Bagua meditation- standing poses for power, alignment, and the development of spiritual gifts

Attending the 5-Day Tai Chi & Qi Gong retreat this week has taught me so much about stability and how to create that within myself and develop a grounded foundation that I feel I’ve needed in my life. I now deeply feel and understand how these practices can truly offer transformation and invite in a more calm, centred and focused approach to life and remind us that we are always an open space for our consciousness and energy to freely express. I could subtly feel the movements were purifying deep layers within my body and had an expanding affect on my mind. My experience was (and still is) much more aware and present, intimately connected to my body, the Earth, and all things in the environment. I can now feel my feet much more firmly on the ground.
I was genuinely impressed with Paul’s method of teaching. He was direct and firm with the practice, but also very graceful, intuitive and attentive to each one of us in the retreat. He was always open and willing to answer any questions we had, and was not shy to correct us when we needed. He has a wonderfully insightful sense and understanding of the body’s internal energies and alignment that were practical and profound. I admired, appreciated and respected that in a teacher. I would highly recommend attending a future retreat or the weekly internal martial arts/Qi gong classes at Tantraya if you wanted more balance and harmony in your life.
Thank you Tantraya for a wonderful week! I’m look forward to incorporating these practices and especially the standing meditation in my daily life!
